Update (3/7/24): Gabby Douglas has reportedly returned to WOGA and resumed training there a week after leaving.

2012 Olympic gold medalist and two-time Olympian Gabby Douglas left WOGA Sunday and is no longer training under Anna and Valeri Liukin, per Olympics.com’s Scott Bregman.

Douglas withdrew from last week’s Winter Cup – what was supposed to be her first meet since the 2016 Rio Games – citing COVID-19.

With five months to go until the Games, time is running out for Douglas to make her bid for a third Olympics a reality. To make it to U.S. Championships (and then qualify to Olympic Trials), she’ll have to earn a qualifying score at either April national team camp, American Classic, or the Core Hydration Classic.

Douglas had been training at WOGA for over a year.
