Stanford wins their 5th consecutive NCAA title in dominate fashion, scoring their season high of a 425.324. A crucial pommel horse rotation put Stanford in prime position to win the title. With a near perfect rings rotation, the Cardinal cruised to their 5th championship. Michigan and Oklahoma round out the podium scoring 419.689 and 412.956. Khoi Young won the All-Around title scoring a 86.098 over Fred Richard’s 83.999 and Fuzzy Benas’ 83.864. While Young displayed a high level of dominance today, no one had a larger impact than Asher Hong who took 3 individual event titles handedly, including the rings, vault and parallel bars.

Young came into the season hot, coming off a 2nd place finish at the 2023 U.S. Championships and a double silver medal performance at the 2023 World Championships. His strengths coming into the year were the pommel horse and vault but parallel bars have emerged as a standout event as well. Young then competed in his first All-Around competition of 2024 at the Stanford Open, scoring 84.85. He continued to rise throughout the season, scoring an 86.350 at the MPSF Championships to win the All-Around title. Beyond winning the 2024 NCAA All-Around title, Young also finished 2nd on the pommel horse and the parallel bars. With this finish, Young has put himself in a great position to make the 2024 US Olympic team as anchor to the vault and pommel horse lineups. The Olympic team will consist of 5 total competitors, all likely coming from an NCAA program.
