The U.S. women completed their February National Team training camp on Tuesday, and international meet assignments for March and April have been announced.

The February camp was a verification and selection camp for U.S. National Team members and other invited athletes. Selections took place for the 2020 Gymnix International and the Jesolo (Italy) Trophy International Competition.

Athletes with World Cup assignments also verified routines ahead of their already-assigned meets.

The U.S. will send a team of four senior and four junior athletes to compete at the 2020 Gymnix International in Montreal, Que., from March 6-8. (Link to watch here!)

In what was stated as an “abundance of caution”, USA Gymnastics (USAG) has decided not to send athletes to the Jesolo Trophy in April.

In the press release announcing assignments, USAG stated, “The decision not to attend this elective competition will not affect Olympic qualification. Instead, USA Gymnastics intends to provide the following athletes with a competitive opportunity at the National Team Training Center in Indianapolis, April 3-5, 2020.”

Rumors of the Jesolo competition being cancelled outright due to the coronavirus outbreak in Italy have been floating around for the past week.

USAG still released the U.S. team for Jesolo despite its decision not to attend the meet.
