We feel like we’re always saying this: but Simone Biles is BACK, and continues to look better. than. ever.

Biles returned to training a month ago after seven weeks off due to the coronavirus pandemic, and despite her and her coaches saying the five-time Olympic medalist was going to take the return a bit slower than her previous comeback in late 2017/early 2018, Biles seems to show no signs of slowing down.

On Tuesday afternoon, Biles tweeted a video of herself working a triple-double off beam into the pit, captioning it, “sometimes I flip and what not.” And the gymternet proceeded to FLIP OUT.

It’s unlikely we’ll ever see Biles compete the triple-double dismount–especially since the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) devalued her revolutionary double-double beam dismount last fall due to it being deemed “too risky” by the FIG’s women’s technical committee (read more about that here). But it’s still incredible to see the G.O.A.T. pushing the boundaries of the sport and continuing to lead the evolution of difficulty.

Even when she doesn’t need to–since she’ll beat everyone by a mile anyhow–Biles challenges herself, WOWs the world, and is a role model to future generations.

“I’d rather regret the risks that didn’t work out than the chances I didn’t take at all.”

You could say the gymternet is seriously shook, and of course, there was some serious shade thrown at the FIG.
