FORT WORTH, Texas – Simone Biles is four weeks away from being officially named to her third Olympic team. Because, unofficially, Biles’ spot on the U.S. women’s Olympic team is secure.

The 27-year-old won her ninth all-around title at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships on Sunday evening inside Dickies Arena. The margin between her and second place finisher Skye Blakely? 5.9 points. She also swept the event titles for the second time in her career.

The win was no surprise after Biles led the field Day 1 with a 60.450, becoming the first woman in the world to break 60 this quad.

Biles put together a two-day total of 119.750 to Blakely’s 113.850. Kayla DiCello rounded out the podium with a 110.800.

The margin between Sunisa Lee in fourth (110.650) and Hezly Rivera in sixth (110.350) was three-tenths. Jordan Chiles was fifth with a 110.400.

Rounding out the top 10 were Jade Carey (109.300), Leanne Wong (108.650), Tiana Sumanasekera (108.550), and Joscelyn Roberson (108.200).

Olympic hopefuls Shilese Jones and Kaliya Lincoln withdrew from competition due to minor injuries this week, but it was announced at the conclusion of the meet that their petitions to Olympic Trials were accepted.

Claire Pease won the junior title on Sunday afternoon, having bested the field by more than 5 points. The WOGA standout also won Winter Cup and the Core Hydration Classic earlier this year in a U.S. gymnastics version of the triple crown.

Keep reading for a play-by-play recap of both days of competition.

The Olympic team hasn’t been selected yet, and won’t be until the end of this month, but the Olympians in the field seem to already be fostering that team chemistry. Simone came over to root Suni on on bars during Rotation 2 before her floor routine. Then, during Simone’s set, Jordan was running around to the corners where she was landing, cheering for her, and Suni was also on the side of the floor. Jordan and Suni shared a hug after. Jade was over on beam during that rotation, but she’s been spending time with them as well. Something to be said about veterans who already have Olympic experience.

Claire Pease heads to her best event in the final rotation with a 4.1 lead over second place for the junior title. Safe to say, she’s got this in the bag. It will be her third win this year, having already taken the Winter Cup and Core Classic titles.

Skye Blakely wrote down in her notes app that her goal tonight was to score a 56 – she went 57.050. She was planning to do the Cheng second initially but felt good about it and decided to put it first, ultimately scoring a 15.000.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:47 p.m.

Leanne Wong (Florida) BB: Switch leap mount. Switch leap to switch half to straddle jump. Switch ring. Back handspring to layout stepout. Double wolf turn, she muscled that around. Front aerial to split jump to back handspring. Side somi. 2.5 twist. 13.750.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:39 p.m.

Simone Biles (WCC) FX: Triple-double, just a small bounce up and down – insane. Front full through to double-double, small hop. Double wolf turn. Double layout half to stag, seemed to keep it in bounds. Double layout, massive but somehow doesn’t bounce big out of it. 15.200.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:39 p.m.

Suni’s day concludes with a 55.750 in the all-around, currently third but will go down a couple spots probably. That’s with a watered down (for her) bars set and room to improve on other events. She should be incredibly proud of that performance – her first all-around performance since NCAA in early 2023 and first elite all-around performance since Tokyo. 14.300.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:35 p.m.

Jordan Chiles (WCC) FX: Might as well have Beyonce in the arena tonight – leo and music! Full-twisting double back, small hop. Front full through to full-twisting double back. Double wolf turn. Was going so well until she rebounded forward big time out of her double layout, touching the floor. 12.750.

Suni Lee UB: Van Leeuwen. Blind change to straddle Jaeger to Pak to Maloney to Gienger. Toe 1/1 to full-twisting double back, small hop. 14.300.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:25 p.m.

Simone needs a 14.750 on floor to break 60. She went 14.800 at Classic.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:22 p.m.

Joscelyn Roberson (WCC) BB: Standing full, crushes it. Switch leap to switch half to back tuck. Low on the half. Side aerial to layout stepout and comes off the beam on what was supposed to be the second layout stepout. Full turn. Onodi, small bobble. Misses the connection with the straddle jump and pike jump. Double pike, step back.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:18 p.m.

Tiana Sumanasekera (WCC) BB: Candle mount. Back handspring back handspring to two-footed layout. Solid through her swing down sequence and leap sequence. Just crushing this set. Double pike with a step. Should be a great score. 13.700.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:13 p.m.

Simone Biles (WCC) BB: Switch leap mount. Switch leap to switch half to back pike – usually makes that connection with the mount but probably felt like it was off if she opted to not. Triple wolf turn. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump. Back handspring to layout stepout to layout stepout. Side aerial. Full-twisting double back, small hop. 14.800.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:10 p.m.

Lexi Zeiss unfortunately fell on her last pass in the following routine.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:05 p.m.

Jordan Chiles (WCC) BB: Front pike mount, small hop forward. Back handspring layout stepout to layout stepout. Front aerial to straddle jump to back handspring, exceptional. Full turn, small leg up. Side somi, arms swinging but contains it quick. Switch leap to Sissone to wolf jump – looked like she may have been a bit off on the jump between the first leap and Sissone. Side straddle 1/4. Double pike. 13.700.

Fri. May 31 @ 8:02 p.m.

Skye Blakely (WOGA) FX: Full-twisting double layout, big bounce and believe two feet OOB, flag definitely up. Seems like she fell sliding into her wolf turn. She got back up and did it just fine, but don’t think that was part of the choreo. FHS double front, hop back. Double back, small hop. 13.200.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:59 p.m.

Kayla DiCello (Hills) BB = 14.100

Fri. May 31 @ 7:40 p.m.

Simone Biles (WCC) UB: Clear hip 1/2 to Maloney to 1/1 to piked Tkatchev to Pak. Van Leeuwen. Short on the handstand before the toe 1/1 to double-double. 14.650.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:37 p.m.

Suni Lee (Midwest) FX: Double layout, small hop. L-turn looked a bit wonky. 1.5 to front full. Triple wolf turn. Double back. Excellent set from Suni who has room to improve but is still looking strong. 13.250.

Reminder that these athletes aren’t looking to be at their absolute peak right now. They want to look even better at trials and their best at the Olympics.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:34 p.m.

Jordan Chiles (WCC) UB: Van Leeuwen. Blind change to piked Jaeger. Toe 1/1 to piked Tkatchev to Pak. Maloney to Gienger. Full-twisting double back, small hop. 14.500.

Very fitting that Beyonce is playing while Chiles competes on bars in her Beyonce-inspired leo.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:32 p.m.

Trinity has only scratched vault at the moment.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:31 p.m.

Leanne Wong (Florida) VT 1: Double-twisting Yurchenko. 14.200. VT 2: Lopez, super high.

Jade Carey (Oregon State) VT 1: Excellent Cheng, hop back. Super powerful. 14.500. VT 2: Double-twisting Yurchenko, small hop back.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:26 p.m.

Kaliya Lincoln (WOGA) BB: Switch leap mount and she’s off the beam immediately.

Looked like Joscelyn Roberson hit bars, her weakest event, and threw an excellent full-twisting double layout dismount.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:23 p.m.

Trinity Thomas has scratched vault. USAG is checking if it’s just vault or the remaining events.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:04 p.m.

Trinity Thomas (Florida) FX: Full-twisting double layout, short and she falls forward touching the floor. Front full through to layout. Double wolf turn. Double layout, way too under-rotated and stays on her knees. Doesn’t finish the routine (just the ending pose really). Walks off of her own accord. Has had that left ankle wrapped as a reminder. 10.900.

Fri. May 31 @ 7:04 p.m.

Skye Blakely (WOGA) UB: Stalder blind change to piked Jaeger. Stalder piked Tkatchev to Pak. Toe 1/1 to Van Leeuwen. Toe 1/2. Double front half, small hop to the side. 14.400.

Jade Carey (Oregon State) FX: Excellent laid-out double-double, small hop. Full-twisting double layout, hop back but looked like she stayed in bounds. Full-twisting double back. Punch front through to double back, nearly stuck. 13.600.

Jordan Chiles (WCC) VT 1: Double-twisting Yurchenko, clean with just a hop back. 14.150. VT 2: Lopez, clean as well.

Kayla DiCello (Hills) UB: Stalder 1/1 to Maloney to clear hip straddle Tkatchev. Piked Jaeger. Toe-on Piked Tkatchev to Pak. Van Leeuwen. Looked a bit short on the last handstand. Full-twisting double back dismount, small hop. 14.500.

Suni Lee (Midwest) BB: Layout stepout mount. Front aerial to split jump to back handspring. Triple wolf turn. Switch leap to switch half to ring jump. Side aerial to layout stepout to layout stepout, big balance check and nearly comes off but saves it. Switch ring jump, stumble. Everything was excellent until that flight series. Piked gainer full dismount. 14.200.

Simone Biles (WCC) VT 1: Yurchenko double pike, single step back. 15.800. 9.400 E-score. VT 2: Cheng, so much distance, small hop. 14.950. Average = 15.375.

Fri. May 31 @ 6:56 p.m.

Hezly Rivera (WOGA) UB = 14.150

Fri. May 31 @ 6:55 p.m.

Reese Esponda (WCC) VT: Looked like a stuck double-twisting Yurchenko from our angle. 13.800.

Fri. May 31 @ 6:54 p.m.

Leanne Wong (Florida) FX: Tucked double-double, hop back. Double layout, a couple stutter steps back. Half to front full. Double pike, nearly stuck. 13.700.

Fri. May 31 @ 6:50 p.m.

Joscelyn Roberson (WCC) VT 1: Launchessss the Cheng. Better than what we saw in warmups. Step back. 14.000.

VT 2: Solid double-twisting Yurchenko.

Fri. May 31 @ 6:49 p.m.

Tiana Sumanasekera (WCC) VT: Beautiful double-twisting Yurchenko, small hop back. 14.250.

Fri. May 31 @ 6:32 p.m.

March in about to happen! Reminder that we’re starting at 6:45!

Fri. May 31 @ 6:24 p.m.

Simone did a nearly flawless Yurchenko double pike in warmups. Just a small step.

Fri. May 31 @ 6:02 p.m.

Excellent Cheng from Skye Blakely, just a step back and a round of applause from those nearby. Better than podium training I think.

Fri. May 31 @ 6:01 p.m.

Suni Lee bars warmup: Van Leeuwen. Blind change to straddle Jaeger to Pak to Maloney to Gienger. Toe 1/1 to full-twisting double back, just a tiny step.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:58 p.m.

Tiana Sumanasekera is a dark horse to watch here and at trials, assuming she makes it (she should). Excellent hit rate. Beautiful gymnastics across the board, including on her much-improved bars. Just did a stick-straight full-twisting double layout.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:56 p.m.

Nearly stuck triple-double from Simone. Clockwork for her.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:56 p.m.

Beautiful double-twisting Yurchenko from Skye Blakely. Assuming we’ll see the Cheng warmed up next as she should be doing both.

Blakely having two competitive vaults increases her stock for the Olympic Team, as she has valuable scores for the team and is competitive individually on vault, bars, and beam.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:44 p.m.

Suni throws a solid double-twisting Yurchenko. Maybe just slightly under-rotated, takes a step back. Power no issue. This is the event her focus is on tonight, upgrading from a full, as she returns to the all-around for the first time since early 2023.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:41 p.m.

Trinity Thomas looking excellent on bars. One of the best double layouts, nearly always stuck. She’s also now taken off the left ankle wrap after vault.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:39 p.m.

A look at Suni and Jade’s leos for tonight! Side note: the color of this meet, at least tonight, is purple! So. Many. Purple. Leos.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:37 p.m.

Simone ended her bars warmup with an excellent double-double.

Fri. May 31 @ 5:29 p.m.

We’re back and watching warmups. Trinity Thomas working the double-twisting Yurchenko. Over-rotated the one we saw but looked purposeful to avoid stinging her ankles, one of which (the left) she has wrapped.

Fri. May 31 @ 3:36 p.m.

We’ll be back around 6 p.m. CT with coverage of session 2 of senior women’s competition.

Fri. May 31 @ 3:34 p.m.

Here are the junior women’s current standings:

Fri. May 31 @ 3:26 p.m.

Amelia Disidore (GAGE) UB: Toe 1/2 to straddle Jaeger. Pak salto. Van Leeuwen. Toe 1/1 and she’s way over on that. Watered down layout. Her only event today – assume she’s dealing with an injury. 12.050.

Fri. May 31 @ 3:21 p.m.

Charleigh Bullock (Capital) BB: Looking for a redeeming routine here after that rough bars set. 1.5 wolf turn. BHS LOSO, bends in half and then comes off. 2.5 twist, and she falls. Didn’t look like she was hurt but looked like a stinger of a landing. 10.550.

Fri. May 31 @ 3:17 p.m.

Claire Pease (WOGA) FX: Full-twisting double back, single foot OOB. 1.5 to front full. Double pike, a bit deep in the knees but stuck. Wonky wolf turn, but gets two rotations around. 2.5 twist, hop back. 12.850.

Fri. May 31 @ 3:13 p.m.

Tyler Turner (WOGA) FX: Full-twisting double back, step back, didn’t seem OOB. Clean second pass ending in a double back. Double pike, that step is OOB. 12.850.

Fri. May 31 @ 3:05 p.m.

Rotation 4 touch warmup happening now!

As expected, Claire Pease leads the juniors with one rotation to go on Day 1. Nicole Desmond leads this first group of seniors.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:59 p.m.

Charleigh Bullock (Capital) UB: Inbar to inbar 1/1, didn’t hit that at handstand Maloney, loses her swing but takes a moment to get it back. Pak salto. Toe shoot. Inbar half to straddle Jaeger. Stalder 1/2 and she’s over but stays on the bar. She is FIGHTING. Double back, just a step back. 10.650.

She’s emotional, but the other gymnasts in her rotating group are comforting her.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:52 p.m.

Lavi Crain (GAGE) VT: Double-twisting Yurchenko, hop back. 13.950.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:48 p.m.

Tatum Drusch (Flips) FX: FHS double full. Double pike, smallest of hops forward. 1.5 to front full. 2.5 twist. 12.800.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:45 p.m.

CaMarah Williams is chalking up to compete bars after that scary fall on vault:

Clear hip. Toe-on, and she has to re-kip. Half turn and she loses that swing as well, then she comes off. Toe 1/1 to straddle Jaeger to Pak. Form issues and she comes off again. From the naked eye, she seems okay physically, it just seems mental. Toe 1/1 to full-twisting double back, low chest, bit wonky, but she lands it. 8.100.

Falls were clean. Not rough.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:35 p.m.

Rotation 3 touch warmup happening now!

Fri. May 31 @ 2:33 p.m.

Shilese Jones has withdrawn from U.S. Championships in order to prioritize recovery and resting a nagging shoulder injury that flared up after the Classic.

Full statement from Jones: “Unfortunately, I won’t be participating in the Xfinity Championships this year. With Paris as my ultimate focus, it’s best for me to prioritize recovery and resting my shoulder this weekend. Both the medical team and I are confident this is the right decision to ensure I’m at full strength for Trials. I’m excited to support my fellow athletes and teammates this weekend.  I am submitting a petition to USAG for Olympi Trials and hope to have the opportunity to compete in Minneapolis!”

Fri. May 31 @ 2:29 p.m.

Charleigh Bullock (Capital) VT: Stuck full-twisting Yurchenko! Excellent form! 12.950.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:28 p.m.

Annalisa Milton (GAGE) FX: Full-twisting double layout, low chest, little rebound forward. Half-in, half-out, looked stuck. Punch front layout through to double back, leg separation on the layout, very arched. Double pike, large step back. 12.700.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:23 p.m.

Claire Pease (WOGA) UB: In-bar 1/1 to Maloney to Pak salto. Van Leeuwen. Toe 1/2 to straddled Jaeger. Double front half, small hop. Lovely work from Claire like always! 13.800.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:18 p.m.

Fan-favorite CaMarah Williams comes up very short on her double-twisting Yurchenko and is very slowly limping off the podium. She’s being tended to by medical now.

Fri. May 31 @ 2:16 p.m.

Isabella Anzola (Georgia Elite) FX: Full-twisting doubel back, some form issues, low chest. Punch front through to double twist. Double pike, small hop back. Double back, rebound forward, didn’t touch. 12.000.
