The U.S. women’s national team convened for a training camp at The Gymnastics Company in Indianapolis over the weekend ahead of next month’s World team selection camp.

Both junior and senior athletes are eyeing international assignments, with senior team members hoping to make the cut for the upcoming Artistic Gymnastics World Championships that are set for October 18-24 in Kitakyushu, Japan. Junior athletes are working toward the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia later this year.

“While in Indianapolis, gymnasts were able to connect with National Team staff on each apparatus as well as complete routine verifications,” USA Gymnastics said.

World team selection camp is set for October 7-10 in Indianapolis. 2021 Olympic team alternates Kayla DiCello and Leanne Wong are expected to headline the field.

First-year senior Skye Blakely looks to make her return to competition after an injury at 2021 Olympic Trials caused her to withdraw from both nights of competition.

The 2021 World Championships team for the U.S. women will consist of four athletes and an alternate. As is tradition for the Worlds after an Olympic Games, athletes will only compete for individual medals with no team event taking place.
