Su Weide: Stoop full. Stoop 1/2. LIUKIN! It is stunning. High tkatchev layout… misses it! Falls again – this time on the Coleman (slips off right at the front). Czech giant sequence with his number hanging off. Double double layout to finish. 11.166. China counting 2 falls on HB with Lin Chaopan to go.

Hashimoto Daiki (JPN): Immediately into flaired spindles. So nice. Breaks into scissor handstand. Flop work. Roth. Flair Magyar to Sivado. Handstand dismount – MASSIVE routine. Refreshing construction and a reminder why he is the Olympic AA champion! 14.266.
Khoi Young (USA): Scissor hstd. Busnari and it’s gorgeous. Side flair travel. Flop work. Wu… and falls off! Makes it through the rest of the routine. Unfortunate for him and USA. 13.600.
Chiba Kenta (JPN): Scissor hstd. Busnari. Good. Falls on the flop work. Repeats and it’s good. Wu. Roth. Magyar to Sivado. Very nice handstand dismount. 13.066.
Fred Richard (USA): Fred Richard (USA): Scissor hstd (pikes – not sure if it will pay?). Triple russian in middle. Flair spindles over both handles then again over one handle. More spindle flaired travel work. Magyar to Sivado. Fights for dismount. Can see the judges having a very long discussion. 12.500. They did not credit the scissor so he loses the skill value and the EG value.
Kaya Kazuma (JPN): Scissor hstd – strengths it. Sohn (I think). Flop work – good. Into flair side travel. Wu. Magyar to Sivado. Roth. Good handstand dismount to finish. One of the BIGGEST pommel celebrations I have seen. I am screaming with him. 14.200.
Yul Moldauer (USA): Scissor in. Scissor hstd. Good flop work. Into the flair spindles. Flair side travel. Flair Magyar to Sivado. Into dismount and with one of the best pommel saves I have ever seen on his pirouettes. Omg. 13.533.

Hong Asher (USA): Front full to front double pike, small hop. Laid-out double-double, small hop. Tuck front full to front double tuck, stuck. 2.5 to front lay, lands with one foot OOB but stuck. Triple twist, bit of an uncontrolled rebound, large hop but seemed to stay in bounds. 13.966.
Minami Kuzuki (JPN): 2.5-twisting double back punch front full, triple-double, front triple twist, 1.5 to 2.5 twist, 2.5 to front double twist, triple twist. Just incredible tumbling. 14.333. Inquiry submitted because they gave him a 6.4 D-score, and that seems wrong… and it is. They change it to a 6.5 / 14.433.
Frederick Richard (USA): 2.5 twisting double tuck – small hop. Fwd double twist punch layout full. Nice air flair and sequence. Nice double double. Stuck bwd double twist. Back 2.5 punch layout. Few steps back on double arabian 1/2 to finish. 14.366.
Hashimoto Daiki (JPN): Double double to open. Nice bwd 3.5. Front full punch 2.5 – big hop. Back double twist. Triple russian. Wide arm press. Bwd 2.5 punch fwd layout (stuck). Bwd triple twist to finish (stuck). Gestures to the crowd to be louder. He is happy. 14.300.
Yul Moldauer (USA): Stuck front 2.5. Stuck fwd double twist punch layout full. Stuck double arabian 1/2. Flair work – great. Back double twist. Stuck. Back 2.5 punch layout – small hop. Tiny hop backwards on his triple twist. Phenomenal.
Chiba Kenta (JPN): Front double pike. Double twist punch layout (almost falls). Front full punch front 2.5 (stuck). Back double twist. Wide arm press. Endo press through. Back 2.5 punch SUPER low tuck 1/2. Almost falls again. Stuck triple twist to finish. 12.933.

Japan is the favorite, and the U.S. is looking to return to the world podium for the first time since winning bronze in 2014.
