Le Rêve closes permanently due to COVID-19 pandemic
Wynn Las Vegas’ Le Rêve – The Dream has taken its final bow due to the COVID-19 pandemic, impacting former gymnasts, acrobats, and more performers who called the show home.
Le Rêve has long been one of the most popular shows on the Las Vegas strip, but over the weekend, it was announced the show is permanently closing and will not return to the Encore Theatre.
The popular water show has long been a next step for retired gymnasts to take after hanging up their grips, with former UCLA gymnast Angi Cipra among those who transitioned from gymnast to acrobat as a performer in the show.
Las Vegas shut down live performances in March due to coronavirus, and they have yet to reopen.
Le Rêve – The Dream was a thrilling acrobatic fantasy world, set inside an aqua theater-in-the-round. Audiences followed the show’s heroine, The Dreamer, through a suspenseful dream sequence. The Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association voted it the “Best Production Show” in Las Vegas for a record-breaking nine consecutive years. Fan-favorite moments from the show included synchronized swimmers and a death-defying 80-foot dive.
