2025 U.S. Classic returning to NOW Arena outside of Chicago

USA Gymnastics announced Tuesday that the 2025 U.S. Classic will return to the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, from July 18-19.
It’s the ninth time in the competition’s history that the event will be hosted in the Chicago area, with Hoffman Estates hosting in 2017 and 2023.
The U.S. Classic is the second domestic “premiere” event for the junior and senior women after Winter Cup and serves as the final opportunity to qualify for the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, which will be held in New Orleans this year.
For those who have already qualified to championships, the U.S. Classic serves as a tune-up meet. Some of the bigger names who may have been competing NCAA or otherwise occupied during Winter Cup will often opt to use this competition to make their season debuts on the elite circuit as well.
Simone Biles has won three of the past four senior U.S. Classic titles (2021, ’23, ’24). Leanne Wong was the winner in 2022.
No men’s division for second year in a row
The U.S. men’s program participated in the U.S. Classic in 2022 and 2023, but for the second year in a row, there will not be a men’s division at the meet.
In order to accommodate more athletes, USA Gymnastics told Gymnastics Now that the men’s program will be doing a national championships qualifier in late June.
USAG also said the men could participate in the U.S. Classic again in the future.
